(JOB) DEVELOPMENT GEOLOGIST

Essential Job Duties:
Apply sound geologic principles to generate new drilling locations and workover candidates.
Work with drilling and reservoir engineers design horizontal wellbore trajectories to meet geologic objectives within the constraints of drilling tolerances.
Integrate all subsurface data in mapping including formation tops, fault cuts, stratigraphic framework, production history, and reservoir rock properties.
Generate facilities, isopach, structural, fault, net pay, HC pore volume, and production maps to define economic drilling projects.
Responsible for geologic evaluation of development wells including acquisition of log, core, fluid samples, and pressure data.
Maintain and construct geologic models and ensure that all available well, seismic and relevant production data is incorporated in the model.
Work with reservoir engineers to formulate annual reservoir development plans.
Required Qualifications:
Degree in Geosciences
3 to 5 years of applied geologic experience in an oil and gas production company
Operational experience with horizontal drilling and well planning a plus
“Hands on” experience constructing geologic models (Petrel preferably)
Experience with physical and digital geologic database management
Exposure to Rose methodology for prospect risking a plus
Excellent interpersonal and team work skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Sound, prudent, and timely decision making skills
