Mechanical Inspection Engineer
Oman LNG invites qualified candidates to apply for the above position. The position is temporary for 3 years and will be based in Sur.
The incumbent will be responsible for the following activities:
- Maintain and execute accurate corrosion and equipment condition monitoring schedules and records.
- Acts as leading advisor for static equipment in the absence of the head mechanical inspection during the rotational work pattern.
- Supervise non destructive testing (NDT) contracts services and assume the role of radiation protection officer when required.
- Supervise inspection of received materials, manufacture and repair to ensure compliance with specified requirements.
- Introduce systems and tools to the complex that will continuously, and where possible in a step change manner, improve the availability of the complex.
- Maintain accurate and relevant schedules, data and condition information related to the mechanical equipment and structure.
Qualification and Technical knowledge base :
- A degree in Engineering Science
- Minimum 10 years in the petrochemical industry of which at least 6 years in an inspection section. Cryogenic experience is preferable as is knowledge and application experience of risk based inspection and analysis.
- Extensive knowledge of corrosion phenomena, material properties, NDT, design codes and manufacturing processes is required.
