The qualities that have helped Murphy Oil succeed in Malaysia are now being exercised in Indonesia, one of the corporation s key focuses for growth.

Murphy Oil opened a representative office in Indonesia mid 2006, and signed its first Production Sharing Contract (PSC) in May 2008 for the South Barito Block in South Kalimantan. This was followed, in November 2008, by the Semai II Block PSC. The block is located south of West Papua and Murphy Oil is working in equal partnership with other well known companies. Most recently the Wokam II PSC was signed on December 17, 2010.
We are looking for an Indonesian SENIOR DRILLING ENGINEER with > 10-15 years of experience. Experience in deep-water drilling together with onshore drilling in Indonesia, is preferable. Candidate will provide drilling technical expertise focused on improving drilling performance and cost. This position will provide guidance to the Drilling Manager in all aspects of well planning together with providing technical/engineering and operations support to the drilling operations, including drilling project management, implementation of new technologies, innovate work practices and cost saving initiatives. The individual will have responsibility for optimizing well planning, well design, drilling program preparation and issue of well cost estimation to management and relevant authorities. Above all, we emphasize on a candidate s good reporting, problem solving skills, and ability to work in a team environment.
