Our client is a large operator seeking an experienced project Mechanical Engineer to work onsite in South Korea. Details are as follows.
Location: South Korea
Duration: 18 + months

Details:
• Position reports to Fabrication Site Engineering Manager and
Mechanical Supervisor and/or Facilities Mechanical Engineering Manager.
• Responsible for both contractor oversight and independent work on
mechanical engineering design systems (piping and fixed equipment) in
connection with major worldwide projects.
• Position requires ability to read contractor deliverables including:
equipment arrangements, equipment and general specifications, Piping &
Instrument Diagrams (P&IDs), data sheets, vendor proposals, mechanical
studies, etc.
• Participation in site/project activities may include design reviews,
risk assessments, HAZOPs, vendor bid evaluations, and project readiness
reviews, answering Contractor site queries, and working with Construction
team to resolving installation design issues.
Qualifications:
• Minimum of Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering and 10 years
oil and gas experience
• Demonstrated project experience at the senior professional level on a
major, upstream or downstream project in the oil and gas industry.
Mechanical design experience in upstream oil and gas facilities onshore or
offshore.
• Understanding of H&V and HVAC systems
• Experience in a major oil company
• Knowledge of API and ASME
• FEED and Fabrication experience
• Ability to work as part of a team with excellent (English) verbal and written
communications skills. Ability to speak/write Russian
and or Korean a plus.
• Possesses strong knowledge of engineering verification and equipment
design audit requirements.
• Capable of supporting development of detailed equipment
specifications including pre-commissioning, testing, and assessing quality
programs
• Capable of understanding and selection of optimal metallurgy.
