Environmental Manager
A major Oil and Gas Operator is currently seeking an Environmental Manager to deliver an Environmental Impact Assessment for a major natural gas project in Papua New Guinea.
The Environmental Manager will ensure that all of the environmental aspects of the company’s business activities have been systematically identified and described, and that suitable controls and measures are defined to manage the associated impacts to a level that is both compliant with relevant Regulations & international laws.
Duties and responsibilities include:
• Develop and coordinate the Strategic Environmental Plan for PNG
• Direct environmental regulatory compliance audits of the Company’s exploration operations
• Represent the Company in discussion with external stakeholders on environmental matters
• Engage and manage consultant as required
Minimum requirements:
• Experience in managing Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) work for multi-billion dollar natural resource projects
• Experience in a similar role for upstream Oil & Gas projects in developing countries
• Successful track record of EIA coordination/project management
• Thorough understanding of the regulatory approval process, including best practice guidelines, planning processes, environmental assessment methods and case law
