Talisman has been active in the Marcellus Shale Gas Play for several years and opened their US Headquarters just north of Pittsburgh in June of 2010. The GeoScience Team is an intregal part of the geological and reservoir development of the Marcellus asset, providing petrophysical analyses, geological wellsite operational organization, special projects and data management.
Responsibilities:
A Junior to Intermediate Petrophysicist is required in Talisman Energy USA’s Marcellus Shale Gas organization.The successful candidate working with a Senior Petrophysicist will be involved in both open hole and cased hole evaluation programs and analyses. As a member of a highly motivated technical team, you will provide petrophysical and geoscience support to geological, drilling, completions, wellsite operations and reservoir development teams.
Qualifications:
· 3-5 years of related experience.
· A university degree in Science or Engineering and familiarity with subsurface geology, geophysics, or reservoir engineering.
· An ability to work with service companies to design, implement, and quality control fit for purpose data acquisition programs would be an asset.
· The use of analysis software both on PC and Linux platforms as well as good standard computer skill with MSOffice programs will be of great benefit.
· Experience with Paradigm’s Petrophysical Software Geolog would be a definite asset, although training would be provided.
Candidate Profile:
· Selected candidates will display good communication skills, enthusiasm, teamwork, and an attitude towards making improvements.
· A sense of humor although not mandatory, at least is helpful in dealing with long hours and after hour calls.

Relocation will be provided for the successful candidate if required.
