ENGINEERING JOBS

The Offshore Health, Safety and Environment Advisor / Medic’s primary role is to provide health, safety and environment expertise and leadership to ensure that all NorCE OFFSHORE operations are carried out in accordance with company and client HSE requirements, policies and procedures and regulatory standards and applicable legislation. The role includes coaching, advising, training, conducting inspections and providing constructive feedback to all concerned parties.

The HSE advisor/medic is also responsible for the administration and reporting tasks associated with the above roles.

Role
Provide coaching (e.g. advice, discussions, training sessions, presentations) and assistance with understanding of the vessel safety management systems to all personnel and onboard management;
o Act in an advisory capacity for employees and onboard management in all matters pertaining to Health Safety and Environment;
o Ensuring that vessel and project personnel comply with company; Client and regulatory HSE requirements;
o Liaising with Client representatives, company Senior Representative at the worksite or onboard the vessel, and Company Project and Corporate HSE Managers to provide feedback on HSE compliance and progress, and discuss areas requiring improvement;
o Monitor and report on HSE related KPIs;
o Conduct regular inspections and audits and provide feedback to vessel or worksite supervision;
o Conduct Permit to Work Training, JHA Training; Safety Observation training and other HSE related training sessions;

Provide first aid / medical and emergency treatment as required for all personnel;
o Maintain medical center through identification of equipment service requirements;
o Coordinate ordering of medical consumables;
o Maintain hospital stock levels etc.;
o Facilitate Health Promotion programs;
o Conduct Emergency Response first aid training;

Qualifications
At least Certificate IV or equivalent in a HSE related discipline;
o Tertiary qualified Offshore Medic e.g. Registered Nurse or degree qualified Paramedic;
o Emergency management training of traumatic injury and medical conditions;
o OPITO accredited helicopter survival course e.g. HUET;
o Accident/Incident Investigation (TAPROOT or ICAM)
