ENGINEERING JOBS
One of our clients, a Major Operator is seeking a Drilling Superintendent - In Situ to join their Calgary based team.
JOB OVERVIEW
Based in Calgary and reporting to the operations Drilling Manager, the successful candidate will be part of a team of Engineers and Technologists responsible for the drilling operations within our client's thermal areas.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Execute the work set forth by the Engineer and technical staff to help provide a safe, efficient and cost effective plan for the field operations
Implement and ensure adherence to our client's EH&S policies and standards as well as regulatory compliance
Establish a culture where safety and the environment are core values and will not be compromised
Focus will be on safety, quality, cost and schedule
Encourage and lead continuous improvement initiatives with project engineers and onsite drilling supervisors
Directly responsible for all field drilling activities on a daily basis
Ensure all incidents and spills are investigated to the appropriate level and are completed with recommendations and learning's
Provide mentorship and technical support to our junior staff
Ensure contractors are successfully prequalified prior to work commencement
Ensure contractors are meeting their EH&S requirements on worksites
Participate in regular tours of field operations monthly
Conduct and participate in audits, inspections, and safety meetings to continue to develop an improving safety awareness and culture
Promote a work environment of trust, performance excellence, high energy and fun
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum 10 years operational drilling experience with an undergraduate degree in Engineering or a Technical diploma
Experience in horizontal drilling, previous experience in thermal drilling operations especially in SAGD would be an asset
Highly motivated and able to work within a multi-functional team environment
A strong knowledge of regulatory legislation and industry Best Practices
Strong communication, interpersonal and computer skills
