It is quoted on the ASX and with revenues running into the low billions, significant profits and over 5,000 direct employees and thousands of other on contract, it is a major player and well placed to continue growing at double digit rates for the foreseeable future.  Its Maintenance Division is the fastest growing part of the company and the appointment of a new divisional head will underpin the plans and targets currently being developed.

Job Description

Our client is a leading player in the provision of engineering, construction and maintenance services to the LNG sector in Australia. Due to major growth they wish to appoint a proven senior manager to lead this expansion and to ensure that its reputation as a reliable, safe and value-add contractor is protected and enhanced. 
The successful applicant must have experience in a similar role in the wider Oil & Gas industry, and will have managed multiple maintenance sites for major producers and operators, with budgets in each location running to tens of millions. 
Reporting to the Executive Director, this role will provide leadership to the team of professionals that supplies maintenance services to major LNG producers and operators in Western Australia. It is a key role and the successful candidate will be responsible for the development and delivery of detailed plans and results for the Maintenance Division.
You will be responsible for all operational activities - including routine maintenance, shutdowns, brownfield upgrades and some capital projects - across the whole of Australia. Your portfolio will run to more than 12 sites, with revenues in the hundreds of millions and supervising between 500 and 1,000 workers. This business is growing very quickly and requires a very high quality commercial and technical manager to oversee this growth.
 
Duties:
  • Manage the Maintenance Division in a commercial and profitable manner
  • Develop and implement practices, policies and procedures to ensure all maintenance engineering tasks are carried out on time, efficiently, safely and in a planned manner
  • Develop processes to anticipate and avoid maintenance issues leading to unplanned downtime
  • Implement and oversee the company’s safety, environment and quality practices
  • Contribute to business development via strong relationships with existing clients and promotional activities with prospective customers
  • Ensure all maintenance operations are planned, managed, reported and delivered to the highest possible standards and to client satisfaction
  • Work with internal management to ensure efficient planning and day to day oversight of the Maintenance Division
  • Ensure Safety, Health & Environment are at the centre of all activities
  • Actively seek new business opportunities with current and prospective customers
  • Contribute to bid and tender process with technical and management input
  • Develop and promote internal staff in a planned and efficient manner
  • Promote a culture of quality at every level of the division
  • Deliver financial and operational targets for the division.

Desired Skills & Experience

Qualifications and Experience:
  • A third level degree in engineering is essential
  • 7 years plus experience in the Oil & Gas maintenance sector at senior management level essential
  • Specific LNG experience preferable but not essential
  • Expertise in maintenance engineering, planning and management.
