Job Description

We are currently seeking a site project controls person to work towards Leismer sustaining capital projects within our oil sands portfolio in Canada. This position reports to project controls manager. This is an initial one year contract role with possibilities of extension.
  • Contribute to baseline updates according to Statoil requirements
  • Follow up contractors at site
  • Establish and maintain system for cost control, progress measurements, quantity control, and time keeping in close coordination with site planner, site management and home office project control team
  • Maintain system for variation order requests, site queries and site instructions
  • Responsible for following up and reporting of site cost
  • Site requisitions and close coordination with procurement to ensure timely delivery of site material and equipment
  • Contribute to company’s monthly report and prepare weekly/shift project site reports
  • Benchmarking and analysis of cost and schedule
  • Ensure that contractors are in compliance with Statoil project control requirements with smooth flow of reporting from contractors to Statoil management systems
  • Close-out of contracts and relevant project close-out activities
  • Secure experience transfer from projects
  • Contribute to risk meetings and give input to risk register
  • The position will be based on site, but will require some travelling to home office in Calgary

Desired Skills & Experience

Qualifications
  • Bachelor or other university degree
  • Minimum 5-10 years of relevant site experience within project control in oil and gas industry
  • Experience working with owners and/or EPC contractors would be an asset
  • Experience in working on project control tools and SAP
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
