Overview: Chevron Oronite is accepting online applications for the position of Oronite Equipment Reliability BIN (Business Improvement Network) Leader located in San Ramon, CA through Nov 30, 2012 at 11:59 p.m. (EST).

Position Details:
The Oronite BIN Leader will provide leadership and support for the operating plants across the Oronite worldwide system in efforts to improve safety, reliability, and economics on centrifuges, filters, and agitators. Responsibilities include leading efforts to improve the equipment through networking, incident investigation, root case and failure mode analysis, sharing lessons learned, leading Best Practice development /implementation, standardization efforts, and leading the development and application of new technology.
Key Job Responsibilities (essential position functions):
(1) Leadership- Work across the Oronite system to lead improvement efforts on centrifuges, filters and agitators. Conduct site visits and meet with reliability, technical and leadership teams to discuss best practice implementation, review lessons learned, and assess effectiveness of the equipment. Work with the Oronite plants and industry to share and implement lessons learned that improve plant uptime and safety, while reducing equipment repair costs. Identify gaps between current performance and best-in-class and work with each site to close gaps.
(2) Communication-Ensures key stakeholders and customers are kept apprised of activities and path forward is in alignment with business direction.
(3) Troubleshooting/Incident Investigation-Support plant investigations and troubleshooting for problems on centrifuges, filters, and agitators. Work with the plant sites to identify root causes and develop long term solutions to failures
(4) Mentor/resource – Act as mentor/resource for Oronite Maintenance, Reliability, and Technical groups for filters, centrifuges, and agitators.
(5) Technology Development and Deployment—Ensures technology is deployed as appropriate across the Oronite plants. Ability to develop and present strategic plans to improve performance.

Required Qualifications:• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum of 15 years of engineering and operating experience in the chemical, petrochemical, refining, or additive industries.
• Experience operating/troubleshooting equipment with an emphasis on knowledge on filters, centrifuges, and agitators.
• Ability to proactively champion technical issues and see them through to completion.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to lead and work on cross-functional teams
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience leading Incident Investigations
• Experience with reliability processes
