Job Description

Australia Pacific Liquefied Natural Gas (APLNG) is a Joint Venture of ConocoPhillips (COP), Origin Energy, and Sinopec seeking to accelerate the development and production of its Coal Seam Gas (CSG) reserves in Queensland through the development of a CSG to Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) project. ConocoPhillips Australia is the operator of the Downstream LNG facilities located on Curtis Island, Gladstone on behalf of Australia Pacific LNG.

A newly created opportunity exists within our Gladstone project team for a degree-qualified pressure equipment specialist interested in taking on a challenging role within a large-scale multi-billion dollar project environment.  This role will be offered on a contract basis. Reporting to the Downstream Operations Manager, you will be responsible for maximising the efficiency of LNG operations, whilst minimising unnecessary shutdowns, and maintenance costs, through the provision of guidance to operations and project teams on pressure equipment issues. A key aspect of you role with involve internal and commissioning inspections of pressure equipment. You will also act as the Subject Matter Expert and technical authority for pressure equipment, providing input into the development of maintenance and reliability plans


Desired Skills & Experience

To be successful in this role, you will a degree-qualified Mechanical Engineer with a background in the oil and gas or hydrocarbons industry with specialist knowledge of welding and pressure equipment. QA/QC field experience with mechanical/pressure equipment is essential. As a key member of the team, you will need to demonstrate strong leadership skills combined with the ability to effectively plan and prioritise responsibilities. An ability to work autonomously as well as part of a larger multi-disciplinary team will be essential to your success.
