A major player in the oil and gas industry is looking for a Drilling Engineering Advisor to grow their team in North America. The company has operations onshore, offshore and in deepwater. This position is for their Well Technology group. The basic requirements are as follows:

The primary role of the Well Technology Advisor is to pro-actively connect the business and projects to the EPT Well Technology team.

To build the Trusted Partner Relationship through regular project updates to identify opportunities and drive:
* The Innovation Pillar effort through active search and screening to identify technology applicable to well construction that can create value in the short to mid term time frame.
* The Trusted Partner Pillar effort through pro-active collaboration with all GDC design and operating regions as well as across Engineering Services, EPT , JIPs, Consortia and industry.
* Technical "due diligence" through the WDX process, Peer Assists, Peer Reviews and TARs.
* Knowledge sharing through technical forums, training, lunch and learns, workshops, technical networks and information sharing documentation.
* Development, implementation and maintenance of GDC documentation such as Standards, Recommended Practices and Specifications.

The Well Technology Advisor will also provide:
* EPT / Well Technology representation at meetings when the Chief is unavailable; such as GDC LT, TLT, Council of The Chiefs and Well Technology Team meetings

Qualifications
* Minimum Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or related discipline
* Professional Engineering Registration is strongly preferred.
* Approximately 8+ years industry experience.
* Self-motivated to learn and adopt new technologies, mentor others, and coordinate technology deployment with other EPT teams.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to effectively communicate with management and operations.
* Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision in a diverse, multidiscipline team environment.
* Proactive analytical skills with attention to details and process improvements.
* Demonstrable problem solving skills.
