Santos operates an extensive network of processing facilities including the $8 Billion dollar Cooper Basin Moomba Gas & Liquids Plant and pivotal oil & gas infrastructure necessary for the massive coal seam gas LNG expansion projects in Queensland.  Over 5000 pressure vessels, 500 atmospheric storage tanks, 3000 PSV’s and an extensive pipeline network will provide significant opportunity for you to exercise your corrosion engineering and integrity management skills.
 
Reporting to the Team Leader Plant Integrity & Process Safety, you will develop and maintain programs that assure the on-going safety, integrity and reliability of pressure equipment across Santos operated assets in line with industry best practice and Santos’ business and EHS policies and standards. A key focus is integrity management of all Santos operated production assets, particularly gas processing plants onshore. The management systems developed will be best practice risk based inspection programs ensuring downtime is minimized and loss of containment frequency and severity is reduced for the lowest lifecycle cost.  

Desired Skills & Experience

Job accountabilities:
  • Lead the corrosion assessment of a major risk based inspection (RBI) upgrade project for all operating facilities using best practice techniques and software;
  • Provide technical guidance on materials selection for key project upgrades and modifications;
  • Manage the corrosion monitoring and mitigation programs for all pressure equipment;
  • Coordinate failure examinations and the implementation of recommendations;
  • Provide technical support to operations on pressure equipment integrity management;
  • Support the pressure equipment inspection programs and data bases;
  • To seek continuous improvement in integrity management through the implementation of new technologies, procedures and programs.
 To be successful, you will have tertiary qualifications in the fields of corrosion science / materials or chemistry with significant (10+ years) experience within the hydrocarbon production, refining or chemicals industry. In addition, you must have recent experience of developing and implementing corrosion management strategies.
