Job Description

This role contributes to the overall strategy and manages complex issues within functional areas area of expertise.
  • Provide leadership and technical direction for assigned program tasks and Engineering staff.
  • The incumbent will have 10 direct reports, Provide support council and recommendations to section management.
  • Establish work group goals within framework of section technical and financial objectives.
  • Maintain broad awareness of efforts within group to assure technical quality excellence, timely completion of work and reviews, appropriate use of resources, and responsiveness customer/program needs.
  • Facilitate communication of technical and business information between organizations and within work group.
  • Communicate with management on technical, organizational, resource and personnel issues.
  • Define roles and responsibilities for assigned personnel.
  • Demonstrates accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives. Integrates and develops processes that meet business needs across the organization. Involved in long-term planning.
  • Conduct performance appraisals and participate in salary planning.
  • Promote professional growth through timely performance feedback, coaching and counseling.
  • Ensure company compliance initiatives and training requirements are implemented within work group.

Desired Skills & Experience

Qualifications/Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering in Mechanical or other related discipline
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in an Engineering leadership role
  • Team with the business leaders to develop business / technical strategy.
  • Demonstrate accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives ensuring the KPIs meet targets.
  • Able to allocate limited resource to execute a project from start to finish to, meet on time delivery.
  • Effective team building and project management ability
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Contribute to the overall strategy and manages complex issues within functional areas of expertise.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skill
  • Coordinate expertise within the group and global engineering team to work on design requirements, field issues, customer complaints, and nonconformance.
Desired Characteristics
  • APEGGA member with good stand.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in design of wellhead equipment with intimate knowledge of API 6A, ASME Section 8 Div 2.
  • Demonstrated success in leading teams of increasing scope and responsibility
  • Ability to guide and influence others particularly working across a matrix environment
  • Demonstrated process orientation in approach to work
  • Ability to prioritize multi-faceted, fast paced job tasks.
  • Demonstrated the capability to achieve team goal through proper delegation.
