Control & Automation Designer
Kuala Lumpur
Requirements:
JOB PURPOSE : To deliver the required Instruments/ Telecommunications design work as required by Project and Lead Engineer.
REPORTING LINES AND INTERACTIONS:
Hierarchically reports to : Operations Manager
Operationally reports to : Lead Mechanical, Piping & Facilities Engineer
Directly supervises : Senior Control & Automation Draftsman.
Key interactions (internally, externally):
Internally : Instrument/Telecoms Lead Engineers, Instrument/Telecoms Engineer, Designers and Draftsman. Other Dept's Engineers, Designers and Draftsman.
Externally : Client and Vendors
TYPICAL BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Must have : Diploma in a Technical Field or equivalent.
At least 7 years experience in Oil and Gas Industry.
Experience in preparing /checkinginstruments/Telecoms
deliverables.
Nice to have : Lead Designer experience.
Filed experience.

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Serve as lead or senior designer reporting to Lead Engineer
- Check and ensure the documents prepared are of good quality
- Prepare specs for bulk materials
- Prepare bid evaluation for bulk materials
- Liaise with Vendors to determine correctness of vendor product or gathering information for design
- Review and check deliverables for completeness and correctness
- Assist in proposal preparation/cost estimation
- Attend acceptance test and inspection from factory, fabrication yard and site(onshore/offshore)
- Attend technical discussion with client/vendors/3rd parties
- Serve as mentor to junior designers and draftsman
