Job Description

Our Christina Lake Asset is currently looking for an Instrumentation and Electrical Reliability Specialist. As a member of the Reliability Team, you will support the Operations Maintenance Area Work Teams by providing preventive and predictive maintenance expertise to improve asset reliability and availability. You will apply sound judgment and knowledge to identify and resolve facility maintenance problems, review condition monitoring and performance test results, and initiate corrective actions.  Your focus will be the development and support of predictive maintenance programs, preventive maintenance job plans, and good working relationships with Area Work Team members.
 
The successful candidate will reside in camp. Transportation is provided to site from various departure points; including bus service from Cold Lake/Bonnyville and Lac la Biche and air service from the following locations, Edmonton, Calgary, Medicine Hat and Red Deer. Our Christina Lake facility is a fly-in camp facility situated approximately 170 kms north of Lac La Biche.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Support an effective Predictive Based Monitoring Program including the use of thermography, motor current analysis and ultra sonics, effectively monitoring equipment health to optimize PM intervals and reduce Life Cycle Costs
  • Develop and review detailed Preventative Maintenance Plans for all critical equipment onsite
  • Provide Cost Stewardship in planning and maintaining budget expenditures
  • Support the development and application of standard procedures including reporting and resolving failures, taking condition based measurements, and maintenance of equipment data files
  • Participate in SRCM efforts to establishing criticality ratings and failure modes on all equipment
  • Assist in the establishment and reporting of Key Performance Indicators for critcal equipment and reliability initiatives
  • Provide mentorship to personnel in the use of reliability concepts such as how process variation impacts equipment reliability, causes of functional failures, and systematic problem solving
  • Communicate reliability program efforts and best practices to the Area Work Teams
  • Coordinate reliability processes with the company's other offices and plants

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Interprovincial Certification or Alberta Trades Qualification as an Instrumentation & Electrical Tradesman
  • 10 years of experience in an Industrial Application
  • High safety standards
  • Proficient with various computer applications (Excel, Word) and able to develop additional computer skills
  • Valid Class 5 Alberta Drivers License
  • Demonstrated knowledge and utilization of resources required to perform job, such as CMMS, RCM/FMECA software, risk analysis, drawings, instruction books, etc
  • Maintain acceptable balance between quality and quantity of output based on the requirements of each job assignment
