Job Description

Our Foster Creek Asset is currently looking for a Contract Reliability Specialist. This position will be reporting to the Group Lead, Maintenance and Reliability EngineeringThe Maintenance & Reliability Engineering Team is initiating an ODR (Operator Driven Reliability) Program to provide Operations and Maintenance with technology to reduce unplanned downtime and capture early failure.  The ODR philosophy is intended to support Foster Creek maintenance strategy. The successful candidate for this position will be responsible for implementing this program using technology supplied by SKF (Aptitude, Microlog) to improve the reliability in our Foster Creek SAGD plant.
 
The Contract Reliability Specialist/Technologist will work a shift of 4 days on 3 days off,  10 hours per day, Monday to Thursday.The ideal candidate will reside in the Cold Lake/Bonnyville area with bus transportation to site provided from various pick up points in the Cold Lake/Bonnyville area. A fly in fly out option may also be available for the successful candidate.
 
Our Foster Creek facility is located approximately 90 minutes north of Bonnyville/ Cold Lake, Alberta area. Your primary responsibility will be to effectively participate as a team member in the operation of our Steam Assisted Gravity Drainage (SAGD) facilities. Our Foster Creek Team is seeking energetic and qualified individuals to support our long term safety, environmental and production goals. 

Responsibilities:
  • Key contributor in the development of the ODR program to improve operational efficiency
  • Change agent in building a bridge between operations and maintenance
  • Key to this role is building and managing the relationship with the AWT-Area Work Team members (Operation, Maintenance and Engineering Cross functional team), as well as handling program challenges
  • Leadership in enhancing existing operator rounds
  • Highly capable in implementing condition based maintenance initiatives in order to support Maintenance & Reliability Asset Maintenance Strategy
  • Create and develop work practices and processes to enable Area Work Team-AWT in assessing risk and implementing mitigation measures and controls
  • Responsible for program implementation including estimation, planning/scheduling, progress reporting, cost and schedule control

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Degree in Engineering/Sciences or a combination of other qualifications (trades) with 3-5 years experience in an applied reliability role involving high proficiency of theoretical and academic reliability concepts
  • Mechanical Engineering Technologist or Certified SMRP CMRP would be an asset
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency in using Microsoft Office and Acrobat are mandatory
  • CMMS experience (Maximo an asset)
  • Previous experience of operating in a team environment with active participation in reliability improvement programs
Other skills:
  • Self-motivated and a positive attitude
  • SMRP, EIT or P.Eng would be an asset
  • Requires superior communication, administration, detailed and organizational skills
