Inspection Engineer
The Inspection Engineer will work with Client (a State Owned Company based in Qatar) Integrity engineering team members. To manage, supervise and direct the inspection and NDT activities, in line with the operation integrity engineering plans, to meet Client onshore and offshore operating plant integrity and reliability requirements for safe and continued operation.


Background:
The Inspection Engineer reports technically to the Client Integrity Engineering (IE),and administratively to the Inspection engineer (Site Representative).
Operation Integrity Engineering (IE) is charged with the corporate responsibility for Inspection of
operating equipment's and facilities within Client onshore and offshore facilities.
The Inspection Engineer handles and supervises other contractors ranging from highly specialized Inspectors and technicians to helpers, depending on relevant inspection tasks, during Major Maintenance / shutdowns and / or other specific activities. He is also required to prepare and direct other inspectors, and technicians to perform inspection activities based on Risk Based Inspection (RBI) methodology to enhance continuous Plants Integrity and Reliability in order to optimize inspection frequencies, maintenance cost and Plants Availability.

The Following Skills, experience and qualifications are required:
An experienced, high level of proficiency in English, graduated Engineer with BE / B Tech degree in Mechanical, or Metallurgical discipline, Meeting the minimum education requirements and years of experience as per the qualifications matrix.
With years after graduation in the field of integrity, inspection or corrosion engineering of covering oil and gas industry Static Equipment integrity management through the application of risk-based
inspection and reliability techniques, post his qualification.
A current API 510, API 570 and API 653 certification.
Conversant with NDT / NDE methods and procedures and certified as ASNT / PCN / Level II in UT, MPI & DPI and CSWIP 3-2.
Must have a thorough knowledge of engineering practices and economic principles, calculation
methods, design details, U.S. Codes, Static equipment's Standards and Specifications named ASME & API.
Process Plant Degradation Experience.
Knowledge level of inspection procedures, inspection techniques as well as inspection management systems such as RBI.
A team worker.

Preferred Skills:
With Strong analytical and leadership capability.
Demonstrated supervisory experience and ability to maintain positive working relationship.
Fully conversant with MS Office and SAP / Inspection Management Systems.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience in the application of fitness for purpose and the Remain Life Assessment techniques. Conversant with API RP 579 and 571.
Good knowledge and experience in refractory material selection and repairs. Will provide advice on welding and repair procedures.
Perform as "Authorized Inspector" for certifying pressure equipment

Specific Skills:
Capable to troubleshoot and analyze static equipment performance and advise on appropriate
mitigation action to ensure plant integrity and capable to provide advice in the field of failure analysis.
Daily reporting of inspection efforts.
Reviewing and completing procedures for compliance to specifications and codes, including welding
procedures, NDT procedures, Hydro test procedures etc.
Reviewing Quality Assurance Plans, Quality Control Manuals, Inspection Procedures, etc. Monitoring
inspection activities, reports, NDT, traceability.
Assisting the inspectors on quality related issues.
In addition, Inspection Engineer may perform inspection activities, especially in his discipline, as
required.
With good knowledge regarding selection of materials and corrosion control strategies.
Knowledgeable about the identification and classification of various types of damage / degradations
mechanisms and be capable of discerning acceptable conditions.
With appreciation of turnaround planning and the development and application of quality management
systems.
Will Act as focal point to Implement and execute detailed inspection work scopes.
Will ensure preparation of inspection work list for plant turnarounds and ensure effective shutdown
execution by developing strategies.
Will ensure that the inspection documentation and data is captured and updating in SAP / Inspection
Management Systems.
Will ensure functioning and monitoring of various inspection programmes. Ability to solve issues and
manage time effectively.
Preparation of technical and inspection management reports.
Demonstrated supervisory experience with multi-national teams. Ability to maintain positive working
relationship with client and co-workers.
Perform as "Authorized Inspector" for certifying pressure equipment.

Main Accountabilities:
To supervise / participate as required all daily on-stream and shutdown inspection activities for all onshore and offshore static equipment and piping of process plants(stationary equipment) and piping systems, and
structures, by assessing deterioration mechanisms, corrosion monitoring and investigation of failures. He will also participate in the daily inspection and testing and provides analyses of equipment condition.
To supervise / participate as required all on-stream and shutdown inspection activities for stationary equipment and piping, corrosion monitoring and investigation of failures.
To identify equipment areas of concern and prepare dedicated inspection procedures to follow-up their
resolution for improvement of Plant Integrity.
To supervise / participate as required in inspection of equipment and piping, including review of preliminary interpretations carried out by inspection Team.
To comply with all Client Health, Safety and Environment as well as Work Permit, policies and procedures.
